The American Psychological Association describes resilience as the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress — such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems or workplace and financial stressors. It means “bouncing back” from difficult experiences.

Self-reflection helps us develop resilience by increasing our understanding of our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and motivation. This allows us to redirect our focus and re-channel energy to help us worry less, reduce stress and make better decisions for ourselves. Through introspection we can improve our outlook, gain peace of mind and increase our energy for life.

Treatment Orientation

Treatment Orientation includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered and Family Systems approaches. To help you achieve your goals for a positive outcome, I utilize:

  • Client feedback to explore the experience and circumstances of the client and address client needs and goals.
  • Psycho-education to help you gain understanding of why symptoms and behaviors are often prompted by our thoughts, mood and outlook.
  • Solution focused strategies to reduce symptoms including coping skills, stress management and positive psychology techniques.
  • Strengths based perspective to help you understand who you are no matter who you are with by identifying strengths, assets, values and beliefs.

“Follow effective action

with quiet reflection.

From quiet reflection

will come even more

effective action.”
